Used But With Great Quality

Learning The Basics Of An Ignition System
The purpose of your car’s ignition system is to time a spark that ignites gas at the precise moment needed to power your engine. Several different parts work together to make this happen. Your car’s engine is basically a huge pump. Air and gas are pumped in, producing energy that turns the tires and moves the vehicle. That’s an oversimplification, but sufficient for learning how the components of the system work. Below, I’ll briefly describe the parts involved and take you through the process of igniting the gas and powering your engine.
Parts And Their Jobs
Your ignition system is comprised of spark plugs, a distributor (and cap), rotor, and coil. The coil is what transforms an electrical current from your car battery into a spark. When the coil successfully creates a spark (and it needs to be potent enough to actually ignite the fuel), the spark is transferred to your car’s distributor. The reason it’s called a distributor is because it spins and allocates the sparks from the coil to multiple spark plugs. It does that through the rotor.
The rotor spins with the distributor and contacts the cylinders of the engine. When it does this, it transfers the sparks to the spark plug wires. At this point, the spark has nearly traveled to where it needs to be. Each of the spark plug wires is attached to the distributor cap through its own contact point. Those wires send the spark directly to the spark plugs which are mounted in your car’s cylinder head. When the gases from the fuel flow into the cylinder, the spark ignites them, causing combustion.
The process I’ve just described happens over and over, tens of thousands of times while your car is in operation.
A Seamless System
Your ignition system is most effective when the sparks are precisely timed. In the past, this was done by employing a points-and-condenser module to tell the distributor when to allocate the sparks to the spark plugs. Today, most cars are equipped with computers (called ignition modules) that control the timing. They do so by notifying your car’s engine control unit about the placement of the pistons. If an ignition module fails, it’s usually necessary to replace it.
Over the past few years, manufacturers have begun experimenting with “distributorless” ignition systems. Rather than a single coil creating the sparks needed to ignite the fuel, each spark plug has its own coil. That effectively eliminates the need for the distributor. It’s still considered a young technology, but holds significant promise.

Auto repairs usually come at the worst time and always carry a cost that we’d rather avoid. When major parts in your vehicle need to be replaced, that cost can be significant. For example, if your car’s transmission fails, it can cost $1,500 or more for a new one. The repair shop to which you’ve taken your car will give you three options: a rebuilt transmission, a remanufactured unit, or a used transmission. In this article, we’ll help you understand what each of these terms involves. What Does Rebuilt Mean? Major car parts like transmissions are usually comprised of several smaller parts. If your transmission fails, it may be due to the failing of one or more of the smaller parts while other components are working properly. For example, the pistons and actuator band may need to be replaced, but the other parts are fine. A rebuilt transmission would involve replacing only the pistons and actuator band. Rebuilt parts are usually less costly than remanufactured parts. What Does Remanufactured Mean? When the O.E.M. (Original Equipment Manufacturer) releases a car part, it is expected to meet certain standards of quality and performance tolerance. Over time, the quality and performance of parts degrade. When a part is remanufactured, it is completely overhauled in order to ensure that it once again meets the O.E.M. standards. Continuing our example from above, a remanufactured transmission will have undergone an exhaustive review that checks every component. This can include the pistons, actuator band, the entire planetary gearset and clutch plates. Everything is restored and tested. Because remanufactured parts are held to O.E.M. standards, they will often come with a comparatively long warranty. That being said, they are usually more expensive than rebuilt parts. Used Car Parts Used car parts are the least costly of the three options. They also require the most caution when purchasing them. The reason is due to the fact that few used auto parts come with a warranty that extends past a year. If the part fails after a year has passed, you’ll have no recourse. However, savvy car owners can find remarkable deals in used parts. By asking the right questions and knowing what to look for, they can often pay as little as 50% of what an equivalent new or remanufactured part would cost. The decision of which type of part - rebuilt, remanufactured, or used - to invest in will depend largely on your budget and how long you intend to keep your vehicle. After all, if you plan to sell your car in six months, a rebuilt transmission is probably a better investment than one that is remanufactured. Choosing appropriately means knowing your goals, your plans for the vehicle and how much you can afford to spend. Moving to California

Sep-4-2008 By admin

A friend of mine who got married last year is now scheduled to move with his wie in California. That is a dream for him to have a home at California since we were younger and before she got married. His wife is so excited too that they both finally have their own house and what makes it better is their house is in the place where they both love to live in.

The first dream that my friend had met is to marry his wife and the second is to have his own car. Then finally own a home in California. He will bring his car with them and he wants to have a California car insurance for his car when they got there. Almost everything is prepared for moving in California and he wants me to help him when they move. The couple are both very excited to live in their new home and I also feel very excited for them. They both deserve the things that is given to them because they are both good persons.
